Antique Australian M. Balfe clear glass hat dye bottle dating to approximately the 1910s–1920s. Features embossed M. Balfe lettering and a rectangular form. Measures 14 cm high. Good antique condition with a small flea bite to the lower front.

Antique M. Balfe Australian Hat Dye Glass Bottle c.1910s–1920s

An antique Australian clear glass bottle embossed M. Balfe, dating approximately to the 1910s–1920s.

These small rectangular bottles were associated with M. Balfe hat dye preparations, used to recolour and refresh straw hats during the early twentieth century. The embossed branding and compact form make this an interesting example of Australian domestic and advertising history.

Condition
