Description
Antique M. Balfe Australian Hat Dye Glass Bottle c.1910s–1920s
An antique Australian clear glass bottle embossed M. Balfe, dating approximately to the 1910s–1920s.
These small rectangular bottles were associated with M. Balfe hat dye preparations, used to recolour and refresh straw hats during the early twentieth century. The embossed branding and compact form make this an interesting example of Australian domestic and advertising history.
