A.M. Boyd Australian Pottery Aboriginal Figure Decorative Plate
This charming vintage decorative plate was produced by A.M. Boyd Australia and dates from approximately the 1950s.
The plate features a striking stylised Aboriginal figure walking through an abstract Australian bush landscape, surrounded by expressive gum trees and layered earth-toned brushwork.
Warm ochre, olive green, cream, brown and black glazes combine to produce a distinctly Australian palette, while the loose hand-painted decoration creates movement and depth throughout the composition.
The reverse carries the inscription:

Australia
confirming its Australian manufacture.
Although measuring only approximately 12 cm across, the plate possesses considerable decorative presence and would suit collectors of Australian studio pottery, mid-century ceramics and Boyd pottery.
