Description

Description

These elegant vintage women’s leather gloves are a particularly appealing example of mid-century winter fashion.

Probably dating from the 1960s, they are crafted from exceptionally soft, supple leather in a warm cognac-tan colour and feature three traditional stitched points extending along the back of each hand.

The interior is fully lined in natural fur, extending throughout the hands and fingers rather than being used merely as a decorative cuff trim.

Their restrained styling, quality materials and beautiful warm colour make them equally attractive as wearable vintage fashion or as part of a twentieth-century costume and accessories collection.

Collector’s Note

Good vintage gloves survive in very different condition depending upon how they were stored. Supple leather, intact stitching and surviving full linings are particularly desirable.

The warm cognac leather, traditional stitched points and complete fur lining make this pair a particularly attractive example of mid-century winter glove design.
