Description
A striking vintage green cloud-glass vase with darker marbled swirls, a flared mouth and a panelled column body. A raised band around the lower body and a broad circular foot give the vase a distinctive architectural presence.
Its flowing glass pattern contrasts beautifully with the structured shape, making it an appealing addition to a vintage interior, a glass collection or a gift for someone who enjoys decorative objects.
Attributed to Davidson and catalogued by The Collector as an Art Deco Davidson green cloud-glass column vase. This example is unmarked; the attribution and exact production date have not been independently confirmed.
Cloud glass and collecting
Cloud glass is known for its flowing, cloud-like streaks of colour. Davidson developed the technique in 1923, and other manufacturers also produced clouded glass. Collectors compare the moulded shape, rim, foot and glass pattern when identifying examples; colour alone does not establish the maker.
