Description
Betty M. Daisey Signed Australian Studio Pottery Jug – Brown Black Drip Glaze
A distinctive Australian studio pottery jug signed “Betty M. Daisey” on the base.
This substantial handmade pottery vessel features a warm brown glazed body decorated with a glossy black drip glaze. The contrasting glaze flows naturally around the upper body, giving the piece an expressive appearance characteristic of individually made studio pottery.
The jug has a rounded sculptural form with a pouring lip formed into the rim. It does not have a handle. Its rich earthy colours and flowing glaze make it an attractive display piece for a shelf, sideboard or collection of Australian studio ceramics.
The potter has not been independently identified. The piece is therefore described according to the incised “Betty M. Daisey” signature visible on the base rather than attributed to another documented maker.
