Antique Chinese Famille Verte porcelain charger featuring richly coloured landscape, floral and dragon decoration.
The large 32.5 cm charger has a detailed central landscape composition incorporating mountains, trees, flowering plants and architectural elements, framed by concentric decorative borders.
The broad outer border is particularly striking, with a characteristic green ground enriched by flowers, scrolling foliage and stylised dragons. Iron-red, cobalt blue, pink, yellow and additional green enamels create the polychrome appearance associated with the Famille Verte decorative tradition.
The reverse is more restrained, with iron-red painted motifs around the underside and a central red seal-style mark.
Rather than relying on the mark alone for dating, the charger should be considered through its complete combination of porcelain body, enamel decoration, foot construction, glaze, mark and overall manufacture.
This Chinese Famille Verte porcelain charger has strong decorative presence, with its vibrant green ground, richly coloured enamel decoration and detailed landscape creating an immediate focal point. Its generous 32.5 cm size makes it an excellent statement piece on its own, while also working beautifully as a backdrop for smaller ceramics and collectables.

Condition
Good antique condition overall. There are a number of very small flea bites around the underside of the rim/base area. These are minor and are not prominent on the decorated front face. Age-related wear and manufacturing variations are consistent with an older ceramic. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.Internal-link section
