Maker’s Biography: Schafer & Vater

Schafer & Vater, a renowned German porcelain manufacturer, was founded in 1890 by Gustav Schafer and Guenter Vater in Thuringia, Germany.

Known for their high-quality hard and soft paste porcelain and innovative designs, Schafer & Vater produced a variety of items, including figurines, vases, and teapots.

The also company famously produced humorously designed Motif’s that adorned a variety of novelty figures, as well as their distinctive blue Jasper ware range, these pieces often adorned with classical motifs and intricate details, are highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

The company continued to produce exceptional porcelain items until it ceased operations in the 1960s.
