Arnold Henry Jarvis (Australian 1881-1959) Bio
Arnold was born in Adelaide 1881, In his childhood Arnold began to establish a reputation as an equilibrist around his local area. By the time he was 17 he was offered an opportunity by Jones and Lawrence to perform in Perth, In addition to his juggling skills Jarvis was an adept lighting sketch painter and reportedly being able to paint landscapes, seascapes and interior scenes in less than three minutes. While not viewed as an original creator of juggling acts, he was nevertheless regarded as a highly talented performer. He later became recognized as one of Australia’s leading Watercolour landscape artists in the style of Hans Heyson, Painting many landscape paintings of the Australian countryside. Arnold continued to paint in Melbourne until his passing in 1959
