Shirley Margaret Bourne (Australian 1924-2006) Bio

Shirley an Archibald Finalist from 1969-1959, Art teacher, Portrait, Landscape and Seascape Artist was born in Brisbane in 1924 Shirley studied at the National Gallery School Melbourne and also worked in the 8 time Winner of the Archibald Prize for Portrait Painting Sir William Dargie’s studio in 1952 after winning the Dora Wilson travelling scholarship Shirley studied for three years in (England Europe 1955-57) A member of the Victorian Artists’ Society her works are represented in several major collections including the Portrait of Roland Wakelin this work was a finalist in the 1959 Archibald Prize and was acquired by the NSW Art Gallery in 1960

We will combine postage where possible and safe to do so, THIS MAY save you money if you buy more than one art work.
