Bio

Mary Pinnock (Australian 1951-)

The Archibald finalist lives in and has a studio in Paddington, Sydney but has retained her connection with the land, and her infectious love of nature shines through in her works on canvas There is something heartwarming about Mary Pinnock’s depiction of nature ‘You just want to reach out and stroke her plump chickens depictured or give her smiling cows a pat ‘I love all things to do with ‘mother nature’ – animals, flowers, fruit and all insects, especially cloudscapes and tropical flora and fauna’, My work is an ‘escape’ from the city’s humdrum and as I sit on the floor of my studio, I always imagine that I am living inside the painting I am working on at that moment Out of Town
