William DeShazo (American 1934-) Bio
William DeShazo was born in New Mexico in 1934, He grew up working on his families cattle ranches with his Father, At the age of seven his father gave him a sketchbook to keep him occupied and fell in love will sketching all sorts of animals he encountered out in the countryside and also the animals on the farm.
Later as a teenager he began working as a bronc and bull rider for the southwestern rodeo circuit and played in the All-State football team for his high school, after that he moved to South California to study at California Western University and then worked on a commercial fishing boat from the port of Sand Diego.
When William returned he began studying Old Master glaze technics at the Laguna School of Fine Art in 1961 and continued to work with the medium developing his own style
His work has appeared in Life Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Showbiz, Architectural Digest, Prints 21, Decor, Arizona Highways, Southwest and Aloha Magazines. His works are also held in private collections all over the world, including the U.S., England, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East.
