Description
A vintage clear glass Cohn Bros soft-drink bottle embossed with the company name, circular CB monogram and the Victorian localities Bendigo and Swan Hill.
Its tall crown-seal form and distinctive lettering make it an attractive addition to an Australian bottle collection. The raised ownership wording around the lower body preserves its connection with a well-known regional beverage business.
About Cohn Brothers
Cohn Brothers grew from Bendigo’s nineteenth-century beverage industry, producing cordials, soft drinks and beer. The business was established by Danish brothers Moritz, Julius and Jacob Cohn, with a later factory at Swan Hill. Its bottles, crates and advertising preserve a recognisable part of central Victorian commercial and social history.
Identification and approximate date
The base carries F1449, an AGM monogram, M and 2.
A closely matching bottle with the same base code is catalogued by Kiewa Valley Historical Society to the 1940s–1950s. This supports an approximate period; the exact production year of this example has not been established.
