Description:

A beautiful antique Chinese Shiwan pottery ginger jar of compact hexagonal form, finished in a rich green glaze with raised floral panels to each side.

This is an attractive and increasingly uncommon decorative form, with the glaze variation, rustic surface and hand-finished character associated with traditional Shiwan stoneware. Its compact size makes it easy to display while still offering the appeal of genuine antique Chinese pottery at an affordable price point.

The jar is unmarked and is believed to date from the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1900.
