Mimi Spirits are match thin little spirits with long arms and legs and a short thin neck that live within the rocks of the western Arnhem Land Escarpment They would enter these rocks by blowing breath on them causing a hole to appear through which they would enter They are nocturnal in habits only coming out at night to carry out their nocturnal activities hunt and fish plus hold ceremonies Mimi Spirits were friendly with the local Aboriginal people and would associate with them teaching them many aspects of their current ways of life They were great hunters and they taught the local people how to hunt for and how to cut up and cook kangaroos
