TMC Emporium is part of The McCorry Collection, a Melbourne-based family collecting business with a passion for art, antiques, vintage objects and collectables with a story to tell.
We look for pieces that offer something beyond simple decoration—quality craftsmanship, an interesting maker, distinctive design, historical character, an unusual mark or a connection with Australian and international collecting history.
How TMC Emporium Began
Our collecting journey began with Arty Farty Collections in 2015. What started as an interest in finding decorative and collectable objects gradually developed into an online business offering art, porcelain, silverware, pottery and other vintage pieces.
The McCorry Collection followed in 2018 with a stronger focus on original art. TMC Emporium was established in 2023 to make our growing selection of vintage, antique and collectable objects easier to explore in one place.
Today, TMC Emporium and TMC Art bring together original artworks, Australian pottery, English and European ceramics, glass, jewellery, metalware, historical objects and other carefully selected collectables.
What We Look For
We select individual pieces for their quality, design, craftsmanship, maker, condition, historical interest and collecting appeal.
Our collection may include:
- Australian studio and art pottery
- English and European ceramics
- original Australian and international art
- vintage and antique glass
- jewellery and decorative metalware
- historical advertising and ephemera
- bottles, tools and household collectables
- distinctive objects that warrant further research
Not every worthwhile object needs to be rare or expensive. A well-designed, beautifully made or historically interesting piece can be an excellent addition to a collection.
Researching Every Piece
Research is an important part of what we do.
Depending on the object, we examine:
- makers’ marks and factory backstamps
- signatures and artists’ inscriptions
- model, pattern and registration numbers
- original labels and packaging
- materials and manufacturing techniques
- auction provenance and previous catalogue descriptions
- reliable historical references
- museum, archive and documented collection examples
- relevant secondary-market evidence
A backstamp, signature or label is an important starting point, but it should be considered together with the complete object. Shape, materials, construction, decoration, glaze, age and condition may all contribute to an accurate identification.
Where identification cannot be established conclusively, we aim to distinguish clearly between confirmed information, a researched attribution and details that remain uncertain.
Condition, Photography and Description
Every item is individually examined, measured, photographed and described before it is offered for sale.
We record maker marks, signatures, labels and other useful identifying details wherever possible. Condition information is provided so buyers can assess age-related wear, glaze characteristics, repairs, damage or other relevant features.
Our photographs form an important part of each description. We aim to show the actual object accurately, including its colour, surface, marks and condition, rather than disguising signs of age or use.
Building a Useful Knowledge Centre
The TMC Knowledge Centre is being developed as a practical reference for collectors and prospective buyers.
Our guides explore makers, artists, backstamps, signatures, materials, manufacturing history and collecting fields represented by objects that we genuinely handle and research.
As new examples and reliable information become available, existing guides can be expanded and updated. Our goal is to preserve useful information as well as the physical objects themselves.
Confidence for Buyers
We carefully select and describe every piece. If your item is not as described, we offer a full refund.
Individual listings include photographs, measurements, condition information and the available research so buyers can make informed decisions. We welcome collectors, first-time buyers, gift buyers and anyone who appreciates beautiful or historically interesting objects.
Our Continuing Goal
Our goal is to build TMC Emporium into a trusted destination for distinctive vintage, antique and collectable pieces supported by careful research and honest descriptions.
We will continue adding quality objects, expanding our Knowledge Centre and documenting the makers, artists and histories connected with the pieces that pass through our collection.
