Use your fingers and thumbs to shape the base. Unlike my usual process of shaping the bowl immediately after forming the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, I elevated the walls first and then expanded the clay outward. This technique actually served me quite well in terms of getting a pretty well balanced bowl. To refine the form, I employ a rib and a wooden tool for a distinctive ripply pattern on the interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that I\u2019ll use a turning tool to trim the base\u2019s sides slightly before detaching it from the bat. Allow the bowl to air-dry for 24 to 48 hours, then reposition it on the wheel head for final base trimming. Typically, I add a foot ring to most of my pots and decided to also incorporated an external foot on the bowl\u2019s exterior for added character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel free to share your thoughts in
