It’s crucial to start by coating the inside of the vase walls first to achieve an even finish. Start by using a high-speed paint mixer on a battery drill. Making sure the glaze is thoroughly mixed, and all of the glaze particles are no longer sitting on the bottom of the bucket.

Step 2: Coating the Inside

Using a measuring jug, carefully apply the base glaze to the inside of the vase. Make sure to coat evenly, pull out the glaze, twisting the vars as you do it to coat the rim properly

Step 3: Mixing the Second Glaze

Now, let’s mix the second glaze thoroughly. Utilise a speed mixer to achieve the perfect consistency.

Step 4: Applying the Second Glaze

With your second glaze mixed and ready, it’s time to apply it to the outside of the vase. Use a slip trailer for precise application, allowing your creativity to shine through. Experiment with patterns and designs to personalise your vase.

Step 5: Final Touches

After applying both glazes, take a moment to inspect your work. Make any final adjustments or touch-ups to ensure a flawless finish. Attention to detail is key in pottery glazing.

Step 6: Drying and Firing

Allow your vase to dry completely before firing it in the kiln. Patience is essential at this stage to prevent any smudges or imperfections. Once fired, your glazed vase will be ready to showcase your craftsmanship and creativity.

As a quick side note, make sure to always clean the insides of your buckets, using a spatula to scrape the wet glaze back into the bucket as you don’t want to drying on the outside, throwing out your glaze chemistry!!

If you have any further questions on how we do our glazing, please feel free to comment below we would be happy to answer!

Have a good day everyone and as always Happy Potting!!! 🥳🥳❤️

HOW GOOD DID THIS TURN OUT?? 🤩😍 Step 1: Preparing the Base Glaze First, ensure you have your base glaze ready.
