It can be a lot more forgiving when it gets over saturated with water. Most plastic clays will eventually start to fall apart when it gets too wet and you\u2019ll be left with a sloppy mess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grog clay has a lot more strength to it, and you can generally quickly get it back to a nice workable clay without too much mess<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 Slowly knead your wet, sloppy mound of clay into a ball again. This can be done on particleboard, cement sheeting or Masonite. After kneading, you can place it back onto the base that is left on the wheel Head, make sure you do not add any air bubbles in between the base and the mound of clay, as this will create problems further down the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 For this, next part, most important step is to not use too much water, but just enough to lubricate your hands underneath the clay, because the clay has been oversaturated with water you generally want to use the least amount of water possible, so that you do not get the same problem happen again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 Use ribs to help bring the walls up quicker without dragging the clay or using too much water with your hands. You want to get the walls up as quickly as you can, as the clay will be very soft and the more you work with it the more likely you\u2019re going to get a repeat of the first incident lol<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you can just leave that wet mound of clay on a piece of cement sheeting to dry out until it reaches the desired moisture level, but I thought I would show you this video anyway, as sometimes it\u2019s good to get back on the horse as quickly as you can and give the pot another throw, especially if the first one ended up failing.
