Plus the added benefit of multiple attachments to the extruder means you can add all sorts of different shaped coils to the pot&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One little tip I\u2019ll also talk about since we are on the subject of hand clay extruders. The extrusion die gets held in place by a screw on nut, after a few months of use and cleaning this nut can get really rough and difficult to screw on, I\u2019ve found a little bit of teflon tape on the thread works like a charm, and since teflon is hydrophobic, you can leave it on there while cleaning and continue to use it afterwards&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now when applying the coil to the outside of the pot, you want the wall to be slightly damp to act like slip for the piece your attaching. I\u2019ve put a lot of decoration to thrown pots and as long as you apply the decoration to the wet clay it\u2019s adheres pretty well.
