While it may be a simple design, it does take some time to throw and a little bit of skill. I\u2019d definitely recommend you at least try to make something like this once in your throwing journey \ud83e\udd17<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A few extra tips I couldn\u2019t fit into the video<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Take your time to centre the clay well to avoid wobbling or uneven walls especially when throwing large pieces like this. Make sure the clay is firmly attached to the wheel head, Apply even pressure when centering the clay and let your body weight bring the clay into its natural centre point&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you pull the clay upwards, try to keep the walls as straight as possible. Use slow, controlled movements and maintain an even thickness throughout the pot. You can leave the walls a little thicker then usual and form the shape once you have the desired height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use rib tools to help shape and smooth the interior and exterior of the bowl. These tools are particularly useful for large pieces and can assist in achieving even thickness, When you\u2019re done shaping the pot, use a wire cutter to release it from the wheel head. Be gentle to avoid warping the bowl in the process<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave for 24-4hrs and then trim the base, large pieces will actually dry out quicker so pay attention to the drying, we recommend coving it with a plastic bag&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When trimming the base take note of the hole in the middle, the thinner you trim the base the more likely you start to see the base sag in the middle.
