Place the clay in the centre of the wheel head, gently patting it down to anchor it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Centring the Clay:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Begin by turning the wheel on at a slow speed and rest your hands on the clay, applying even pressure from the top and sides. Use the palm\/wrist of your hands for greater control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the wheel spins, you may feel resistance or wobbling. Adjust your hand positions to counteract this, gently guiding the clay towards the centre. This will improve with practice so if it doesn\u2019t happen straight away in your throwing journey, its no biggie \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Throw The Walls Thinly\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To give you the best step towards having a pot collapse is throwing the walls as thin as possible (obviously \ud83d\ude04) Clay walls are surprisingly strong, so to get them to do what you want them to do, When they don\u2019t want to, Can be a lot harder! I know this for a fact haha<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What you wanna do is push and pull the clay in all directions. If it doesn\u2019t want to collapse on, make a collapse, pull it up, push it down, work with the clay. Get to know how the clay works. Get to know its strengths, get to know its weaknesses. My best advice to you is to learn how clay forms under your hands, which will teach you how to be a better thrower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again hope you enjoyed this post and Happy Potting!
