It can be a good learning experience and will also give you more experience with how clay works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some tips:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Stop the wheel: if your pot is starting to look like it\u2019s doing hula hooping on the wheel head, stop the wheel. It\u2019s way easier to assess the situation when you don\u2019t have a pot imploding in front of your eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. See if you can bring the fault to the top of the pot: as with the bowl i was trying to throw, it was the top section that was causing all the problems, i knew if i could get the bottom part of the pot centre, id be able to salvage it. I put the wheel on a very slow rotation and worked the walls to put the fault towards the top so i could cut it off with a potters needle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is only possible if you still have some good thickness in the walls. If your walls are already too thin then it may be too far gone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Don\u2019t Worry: Failures are part of the process and under no circumstance should you feel in anyway unhappy with the result, if it collapses and flows to a wet mess then have a laugh and try again,
