I’ve been playing around with different shapes and designs on the wheel lately, you could say it been a bit of experimenting and this pot is no exception
Technically it could be a lot better, the lower part of the wall is a fair bit thicker then the top rim but I’m honestly not that phased, its a first attempt and really as long as a first attempt it still standing, its a good thing
However, next time I’ll definitely use less water and try and get the top part of the pot a little thicker than what you see here, its one of the reasons why the pot has a little wobble to the top, the clay got so wet and thin that it really didn’t have much integrity to hold it up. Working with weird shapes and pushing the clay beyond its natural state requires good strong walls and as little water as possible.
It’s a lot like you being a structural engineer! You have to calculate whether its structurally sound enough to continue standing, don’t make walls too thin, not too much water, ect 😂
Hope you all are enjoying your own experiments and creating art, its certainly a fun and exciting thing to do
As always hope you enjoyed this post and Happy Potting!!! 🥳🥳
We will be back tomorrow with some more tips and ideas ❤️
