Sanding The Bottoms Of Pottery With Sanding Bats

Well we are happy to announce that we have completed our latest commission for a resort in Lizard island QLD. But that involves sanding every single base of every single vase. To minimise the risk of them scratching benches. So we decided to invest in some bat sanders from America, which arrived in a week!!!

These sanding bats are game-changers for the pottery finishing process. They come in three different grit strengths, each designed to give you the perfect finish for your pieces:

Coarse Grit: This one is perfect for removing those pesky glaze drips that run down onto the base and kiln shelf. Say goodbye to uneven bottoms and stubborn glaze marks!

Medium Grit: Ideal for smoothing out the rough edges and refining the surface of your pottery pieces. Achieve a balanced and professional look with ease.

Fine Grit: The finer grit is designed to smooth the base and foot rings, ensuring they don’t scratch countertops or any surfaces they rest on. Perfect for giving your pieces that final, polished touch.

We also bought there hand sanders as well to just get into the areas that are harder to do with the bat. We hope our customer is happy with the result! 🤩

What do you think of Seamus’s and I little comedy skit at the start? We thought a little bit of fun would be a cool way to start this video

Happy Potting and thanks for watching! 🥳❤️ ps. We used @diamondcoretools
