1. Prepare the Clay: Start by rolling out your clay to about 8mm thick. Using a template, cut a large piece to form the vase body.

2. Shape the Body: Carefully wrap the clay around a cylinder mould that’s covered in newspaper to prevent sticking.
3. Join the Seam: Score and slip the seam to securely join the edges. Allow the clay to dry enough to hold its shape before removing the mould.
4. Add the Base: Cut out a base from another clay sheet. Score, slip, and attach it to the bottom of the vase body for a solid foundation.
5. Attach Foot to Base: Form a foot for the vase by cutting a circle from the clay. Score, slip, and attach it to the base for added stability.
6. Polish the Vase: Refine the shape and smooth all surfaces using clay tools, ensuring your vase has a clean finish.
7. Create Patterns: Use a ball tool to add intricate patterns near the top of the vase, enhancing its visual appeal.
8. Add Sprig Moulds: Press clay into sprig moulds to create decorative elements. Score, slip, and attach them to the vase body for a unique touch.
9. Refine Details: Finish by polishing and cleaning up the vase with brushes and clay tools, making sure every detail is perfect.
Allow the vase to dry thoroughly, then bisque fire it before glazing for an exquisite finish.
