Max Sherlock (Australian 1925-) Bio

Max was Born in Victoria in 1925, He studied at the National Gallery School 1941-42, with Max Meldrum in Melbourne 1941, then after serving his country with the RAN during WW11, he studied with Clifton Pugh and Frank Werther 1958-60, he travelled and studied in Europe and the USA 1964, 73, and 76. Max exhibited his works at The Victorian Artist Society, The Leveson Street Gallery and other Melbourne Galleries as well as in Sydney, Perth and Canberra. His works are represented in the National Collection in Canberra, National Gallery of Victoria the Bendigo Art Gallery, and in many corporate and private collections throughout Australia.

Awards include RNAGAQ, Brisbane 1966, VAS (Cato Prize) 1968, VS artist of the year 1974 and again 1975.Tab Condition:
