Help if i remembered to grab my tools!! 😂
Got a textured bowl for you today. Hope you enjoy 🤗
Few Tips On How I Made This:
Begin by cutting your clay into manageable pieces and place the clay on the wedging table or work surface and firmly press or “slam” it down a few times to compress it.
Employ a combination of kneading, folding, and pressing actions to work the clay until it becomes smooth and uniform in texture. If the clay feels too dry, sprinkle water over its surface. Cover the clay with a plastic sheet and allow it to sit, giving it time to absorb the moisture. In the event of excess moisture, let the clay air out or utilise absorbent materials (cement sheeting) to reduce the moisture content.
Now going under the proviso that you already have that sorted, the next thing we want to do is centre the clay on the wheel head thoroughly and bring the walls up to a good height with a little more thickness then usual, because we will be pushing the walls out to create the bulb shape. You want the walls to be a little thicker so that you’ve got room to stretch and thin out the clay.
This may take some time to get used to, but eventually you’ll find. It’s a very easy way to put decoration on the outside of the pot, and then do the final shaping.
Once again hope you enjoyed this post and as always Happy Potting!!! 🥳🥳
We will be back tomorrow with some more tips and ideas ❤️
