Let’s Throw a Vase!

Let’s Throw a Vase! I’ve included some information in this video on how to prepare your walls before you do the final shape of the vase.

Few Extra Tips

1. Centring Is Key:

– Provides stability and balance, allowing for controlled shaping.

– Prevents wobbling or uneven spinning of the clay.

– Creates a solid foundation for building and maintaining consistent wall thickness.

– Helps in controlling the overall symmetry and shape of the pottery.

– Enables smoother and more efficient throwing process..

2. Take Your Time:

Taking your time is important especially for vases. They are one of the easiest shapes to go bad for you, taking it nice and slow, and most importantly, keeping every movement fluid and consistent, gives you a better result.

3. Don’t Use To Much Pressure With The Rib:

When you’re using a rubber or metal rib on the outside of the vase, it is very easy to push the vase to one side and begin a wobble, vases are particularly susceptible to be pushed out of shape, simply because of how they are made, when you do use a rubber kidney, make sure to apply even and firm pressure, but do not force the rubber rib on the surface or in any way, push it too hard

Hope you enjoyed this post and as always, Happy Potting! 🥳
