How we weave this pottery bowl

Christine soaks the pine needles and strips of leaves in hot water before draining and placing in a wet tea towel.

The tool she uses are scissors, a large sewing needle, a tube for feeding the Pine needles and clothes pegs.

She threads a large needle with a strip of leaf and feeds her pine needles into her pine feeder.

She then starts to attach to the bowl, winding the leaves strips around the pine needles as she goes. She feeds more pine needles into the feeder at one end, which controls the thickness of the Pine Needles at the other.

As she makes her way around the bowl, she places, pegs on all the bends to help dry the pine needles in shape.

She continues around until she has three layers of Pine needles that have all been stitched together, then her work is left until everything is dried.

After it is dried, she paints linseed oil over all a Pine needles to help protect and conserve them.

Happy Potting to you! 😀
