Got this dimple bowl for today! Im really happy with how circular i got the top lip once i added the dimples. Helped i left it attached to the wheel and use a bit of whammy to smooth it off, I think they will add a great design element to the piece and should look awesome when glazed!
Few Tips:
- Begin by cutting your clay into manageable pieces.
- Place the clay on the wedging table or work surface and firmly press or “slam” it down to compress it.
- Employ a combination of kneading, folding, and pressing actions to work the clay until it becomes smooth and uniform in texture.
- If the clay feels too dry, sprinkle water over its surface. Cover the clay with a plastic sheet and allow it to sit, giving it time to absorb the moisture.
- In the event of excess moisture, let the clay air out or utilise absorbent materials (cement sheeting) to reduce the moisture content.
- Using a sponge or rib, smooth out any imperfections on the bowls exterior.
- Check for consistent thickness throughout the vase walls, ensuring its structural integrity.
- Use your creativity to add any additional embellishments or decorative elements to the bowl, if desired. Such as what I did in this Video
Once again hope you enjoyed this post and Happy Potting! 🥳🥳
