Crafting a Pottery Lidded Bowl Without a Wheel: A Step-by-Step Guide.

Discover how to create your very own pottery lidded bowl with this comprehensive walkthrough.

1. Begin by using a template and a slab of clay.

2. Mark out two circles on the clay.

3. Place the marked circles onto a plaster mould, ensuring they are cantered.

4. Smooth down the clay using a rubber kidney tool.

5. Proceed to join the two sides of the clay together.

6. Level out the clay slightly, repeating the process for both sides.

7. Score and apply slip to the clay before joining the sides.

8. Press the sides together while encircling the form.

9. Utilize a wooden tool to blend and refine the joined areas.

10. Finish the smoothing process with a rubber kidney tool.

11. Employ a cutting tool to carve out four feet from the clay slab.

12. Score and apply slip to attach the feet securely.

13. Utilize a wooden tool to attach the feet around the base of the pot.

14. Use another lid as a template to centralize and mark the lid’s top.

15. Cut out the lid with care.

16. Once cut thoroughly clean both the lid and the bowl.

17. Confirm the lid’s fit using a strip of sewing interfacing.

18. Gently place the lid on the bowl to check alignment.

19. Craft a handle using a strip of clay slab.

20. Add a handle to the lid.

21. Attach the handle using the score-and-slip method.

22. Admire your beautifully finished pottery lidded bowl, a result of your meticulous craftsmanship.
