Create this Stunning Kurniuki Style Vase.
Crafting this exquisite vase is a rewarding journey. Let’s delve into the process:
1. Begin with two meticulously cut clay halves from a template. Place them over a mould, shape, and trim both halves. Score and apply slip.
2. Join both halves, ensuring a flawless connection. Pinch a seam around, smoothing it carefully for uniformity.
3. Attach a foot ring, score, and slip before fixing it to the base. Clean up loose clay with your tools.
4. Use a cookie cutter to mark the vase’s center, leaving a clear imprint on the clay.
5. With a clay knife, cut an opening. Attach the vase’s neck, scoring, slipping, and compressing the join with tools.
6. Refine the shoulder and neck using your finger, clay tools, and a damp sponge. Dry the vase with a heat gun for the next step.
7. Use a paint scraper to lift and tear the clay. Repeat this technique around the entire vase, finishing with a wet sponge.
8. After your vase is thoroughly dry first bisque fire, then apply your favourite glaze before proceeding with the final touch of glaze firing.
Happy Potting to you! 😀
