Crafting Beauty: A Self-Taught Potter’s Odyssey

Embarking on a self-taught pottery journey, I found an unlikely inspiration – online. Fueled by a passion for hand-building, I navigated the digital realm, absorbing basics and refining my craft.

The foundation was simple: master hand-building fundamentals. Online tutorials served as virtual mentors, guiding me through pinch pots, coiling, and slab construction. Embracing repetition, each attempt became a steppingstone, refining skills and sparking creativity.

The online world, a treasure trove, offered diverse influences. Endless scrolling through pottery communities, artist profiles, and videos fueled my imagination. I absorbed styles and techniques, infusing my unique touch into every piece.

Persistence was key. Repetition became my teacher, deepening my understanding. Trial and error became a gradual journey, embracing imperfections as chances to learn and evolve.

Beauty emerged from simplicity. Today’s pots, a testament to countless hours spent scrolling through tutorials, practicing, and challenging myself, transform basic techniques into expressive art.

In self-taught pottery, the online landscape isn’t just inspiration; it’s a boundless classroom where passion meets persistence. Embracing basics, pushing boundaries, and finding inspiration in every scroll, my unique journey unfolds with each beautiful pot created.
