Cracked Handles? Try This…

When faced with a greenware cup that has suffered the unfortunate fate of a broken handle during the drying process, fear not – for with a small carving tool and a dash of creativity, you can salvage it into a charming small pottery bowl. 🤩

Begin by delicately carving away the excess clay from the side where the handle once stood. Precision is key, so take your time to ensure a smooth transition from cup to bowl.

Once the unwanted clay is removed, employ a damp sponge to smooth and refine the edges, creating a seamless finish. This meticulous process not only mends the break but transforms the cup’s misfortune into a unique and functional piece of pottery art.

Now, envision the possibilities of your newly crafted small pottery bowl. Its petite size makes it perfect for holding trinkets, jewelry, or even serving condiments at a dinner table. Place it on a bedside table for holding earrings or by the kitchen counter to host spices – the versatility is boundless.

If you want to add a little bit of design to the bowl, bisque fire it first, and then use a underglaze pencil to draw some designs on the outside of the small bowl to give it a unique look to stand out from the crowd, even some underglazes too!

Now thats something better than a cup that you’ll throw out! 😊💯👌

Happy Potting Everyone!!! 🥳🥳
