I forgot to record how I created the decoration🤦‍♂️

Ok so I did one of the biggest no nos when creating content! Haha left the camera sitting there looking pretty while I was busy creating my piece 😂

But! That doesn’t mean it was all in vain! I’ll do my best to describe how I created this vase 🏺

After getting the walls up to height, I then began decorate the outside using a large wooden “Sculptures thumb” tool to create the twist pattern first, this involves turning the piece slowly on the wheel head, pressing the tool lightly into the surface of the wet clay and bring it in a continuous and smooth manner to the top of the wall

Then! I’ll grab the fluting tool and begin creating a series of vertical cuts to the side of the walls as well, making sure not to cut in too deeply. If the clay is a little bit too wet for this stage, you can slightly dry the outside with a heat gun.

After creating the design on the outside of the wall, you can then grab a wet sponge, place your hand inside the vase and begin pushing the clay from the inside out, to create the shape. Making sure to support the top lip of the wall so that it doesn’t spread out too much and allows the base to move out only

Then trim the side of the base and allow to dry 24-48hrs before tripping the thickness of the vase upside down 🙃

Feel free to comment below have any more questions as we would be happy to answer them. Thank you and have a lovely day !! 😍😍🤩
