LET ME SHOW YOU HOW I DID THIS!! 🤩

Step 1: Preparing the Base Glaze

First, ensure you have your base glaze ready. Start by using a high-speed paint mixer on a battery drill. Making sure the glaze is thoroughly mixed, and all of the glaze particles are no longer sitting on the bottom of the bucket. You want your glaze to be mixed well to give you the best results

Step 2: Coating the Inside

Using a measuring jug or even a cup, apply the base glaze to the inside of the vase. Make sure to coat evenly before pouring out, but make sure not to leave the glaze in the inside of your vase for longer then about 5-6 seconds. Leaving the glaze came create crawling. Pour out swiftly turning the vase as you do.

Step 3: Then dip the outside of the vase with the same glaze

Step 4: Applying the Second Glaze

With your second glaze mixed and ready, it’s time to apply it to the outside of the vase. Use a slip trailer for precise application, allowing your creativity to shine through. Experiment with patterns and designs to personalize your vase. You can go with squiggles or straight lines, the choice is yours

Step 5: Final Touches

After applying both glazes, take a moment to inspect your work. Make any final adjustments or touch-ups to ensure a flawless finish. Attention to detail is key in pottery glazing.

Step 6: Drying and Firing

Allow your vase to dry completely before firing it in the kiln. Usually 12-24 hours depending on your climate.

As a side note, i keep the insides of the buckets as clean as possible to reduce mess and dust. Leaving the walls of the bucket messy can create a dusty environment when you open them
