Throwing This Decorated Bowl On The Wheel

I recently did another video on how to throw a bowl on the wheelhead, If you need any more information, please feel free to comment below, but you will also find a few other tips on that video!

This is the second bowl that I’ve made out of three recently. The other one is a larger bowl just with different decoration.

For this particular bowl, I wanted it to be a little smaller than the third one due to us, creating it in a set of bowls to choose from when I was creating this ball. I made sure to also use my rib tool to get the right shape and form for the inside.

I used to create bowls by hand, and I’d very rarely use a rib. But over the last few months, it has been a go to for me to use one. I found that my shapes are a lot more balanced and when in use they feel better in the hand too.

One quick thing I will express using your hands lock together in a lot of your wheel throwing motions Can help stabilise your clay and also give you a better resolve when throwing I try and say this as much as I can creating these videos as it really is one of the most beneficial techniques you can learn!

Thank you and have a lovely day !! 😍😍🤩
