Today video will be running through how I made this little vase, while it may seem small in size, the size is actually perfect for your test glazes and small kilns
We always recommend test tiles for glaze tests, but a small item is a good way to visualise how it will look on bigger pieces, especially if you have one one off piece that you’ve spend hours creating, the last thing you will want to do it put that in jeopardy
It’s also good for honing in on your skills as a wheel thrower, as a large pot requires the same technique as a small little pot, just in a bigger scale, if you have a new shape you want to try, try it on a small item first
Lastly, it’s not about the size that counts it’s about throwing it, if you’re throwing something on the wheel regardless of it’s size your doing what potters do! Taking a ball of clay and moulding into something beautiful if what potters have been doing for centuries, and will continue centuries after, so enjoy the process and always have fun 🤗🤗❤️❤️
