The Wizard was modelled by Royal Doulton artist Alan Maslankowski and introduced around 1978\u20131979. The design remained in production until 2006 and has become one of Royal Doulton\u2019s most recognisable fantasy-themed figurines.<\/p>\n
The bearded wizard wears a tall glossy black hat and flowing blue robes while carefully studying an open book. An owl rests upon his shoulder, while a black cat watches from beside his feet. These accompanying animals, the wizard\u2019s expressive features and the richly glazed surfaces give the figure considerable character when viewed from every angle.<\/p>\n
